Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long will announce the winner of the 2018 Great Dames Remarkable Ideas Pitch Competition III on Monday, November 5, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., at Harry’s Savoy Grill & Ballroom, 2020 Naamans Road, in north Wilmington.
For the first time, teen girls also will pitch their remarkable ideas in one-minute pitches.
The adult competition featured six finalists who pitched breakthrough ideas in health and wellness, safety and
security, education and youth and competed for a $25,000 package that includes funding, business services, mentorship and feedback.
While the audience selected the winner for the adults, a panel of judges will choose a winner and two runners-up for the teens. Gift cards and invitations to the Great Dames community will be among the teens’ prizes, while the winner receives a business mentor.
“All of us at Great Dames believe in women and girls, and the power of their ideas,” says Great Dames
President Sharon Kelly Hake. “Because of the caliber of ideas from these incredible entrepreneurs, we’re proud
to say that the Remarkable Pitch Competition has become the leading pitch competition targeting women-
owned enterprises in the region. We can’t wait to announce the winners to the community.”
