NextFab makerspace to mark 1st anniversary on Thursday

 NextFab will hold its one-year anniversary celebration on  Thursday, October 11th. The event had been postponed due to weather. 

The  maker space is hosting an event to commemorate its first year in Wilmington, Delaware at its 10,000 square foot facility located at 503 N. Tatnall Street, Wilmington.

The celebration will begin at 4  p.m. with a VIP Meet & Greet for current NextFab members and special guests including various public officials, local business leaders, and members of the media.

The event will open to the public at 5:00 p.m. and attendees will be able to take a guided tour of NextFab Wilmington to learn about its capabilities. The  500 block of North Tatnall Street where NextFab resides will be closed for the festival-style atmosphere and will feature a local craft beer garden, local food vendors, live local music and interactive exhibits. All are welcome.

As part of the 1st birthday celebration in Wilmington, NextFab will be giving away a free month of membership to qualified attendees. This membership provides one person access to traditional tools and workspaces in addition to digital technologies and classes from NextFab’s staff. This membership is valid at the Wilmington location as well as the South Philly and North Philly locations.

According to a release, NextFab provides direct access to equipment, software, training, and consultants for a diverse, collaborative community of members.
