I.g. Burton plans Jeep-only showroom in Milford


i.g.. Burton has broken ground on a new Jeep, Ram, Dodge facility in Milford.

Milford Livereported the 28,000-square-foot will be one of the first in the U.S. to have a Jeep only showroom. The dealership was approached by the manufacturer about having the separate showroom.

Jeep SUVs and Ram pickups have been the strongest sellers for FCA Group (Fiat Chrysler), with Jeep having an especially passionate following.

The brand has worked to hone its image as having a stable of rugged vehicles suitable for outdoors and in Delaware, the beach. More than a few Jeeps in the state have surf fishing tags.

Jeep’s roots go back to World War II. Despite multiple owners and the Chrysler bankruptcy that led to the FCA purchase, sales have continued to grow in the U.S. and overseas.

The company is slated to roll out pickup truckversion of its flagship Jeep Wrangler this year.

The 110-year-old family-owned company has been expanding with the recent purchases of dealerships on Delmarva

Other locations are in Smyrna, Seaford, Lewes and Berlin, MD, outside of Ocean City.

The company has a wide range of brands including Mercedes and BMW in Milford.
