DuPont Safety & Construction  announced the launch of Nomex  Comfort, an innovative lightweight fabric combining flame resistant protection of Nomex with enhanced comfort and breathability.

“In talking with safety managers and wearers, we understood that one of their key challenges is finding not only compliant but comfortable PPE,” said John Richard, vice president, and general manager for DuPont Kevlar and Nomex. “We are committed to constantly discovering and delivering solutions that matter and help solve our customers’ toughest challenges, and that is what has led us to launch a new fabric in the North American industrial market; Nomex Comfort.”

Markets for the fabric include the oil and gas, petrochemical and general manufacturing industries.

Nomex Comfort also absorbs much less moisture than cellulosic fibers such as cotton and viscose.  The fabric will be available in a variety of colors and weights.

DuPont Safety & Construction is a DowDuPont Specialty Products Division business.

Specialty Products will be spun off as DuPont and will be a publicly traded company based in northern Delaware.
