Dassault Aircraft Services names new GM

Dassault Aircraft Services has appointed  Mitch Dishman  as the new General Manager of Dassault Aircraft Services – Wilmington. [Not a valid template]

In his new role, Dishman will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Wilmington service center, including all MRO activities, and supervising the structural repair center. The center is located at New Castle Airport, south of the city.

Dishman has been with Dassault Aircraft Services for ten years, serving most recently as director of the structural repair center. Dishman has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He’s worked in the aerospace and defense industry for over 15 years and served in various positions with defense contractors prior to joining Dassault Aircraft Services.

Wirth named CEO of the owner of DuPont County Club.

Rockland Sports, the company that purchased the DuPont Country Club from the DuPont Company, announced it has named Robert A. Wirth Chief Executive Officer of the company. In his role as CEO Wirth will be responsible for leading the renewal of the DuPont Country Club.

Wirth served as Director of Transition and Implementation as ownership of DuPont Country Club was transitioned from the DuPont Company to Rockland Sports earlier this year.

Wirth began working at DuPont Country Club as Head Tennis Professional in 2006, becoming Director of Tennis and Fitness in 2011.  He founded RAW Tennis, Inc. in 2007.  He is a graduate of the Saddlebrook Golf and Tennis Academy and from the University of Delaware in 2006 with a BA degree in History. 

State names chief information  security officer

The Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI named  Solomon Adote as the new Chief Security Officer. Solomon will be responsible for enhancing and improving the state’s cyber security strategy, including the design and execution of the Delaware Information Security Program and the Continuity of Government and Disaster Recovery Program.

Solomon’s educational accomplishments include a Master of Science in Computer Information Technology degree from Regis University and various certifications including: Computer Information Security Management (CISM), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Profession in Security (CCNP-S), Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), and SANs Firewall Security Analyst, among others.

Guthrie named  VP   for human resources at the University of Delaware

Wayne Guthrie, associate vice chancellor of human resources at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been named vice president for human resources.

In his new role, Guthrie will lead a “strategic, transparent and customer-service-oriented Human Resources function designed to advance functional and operational excellence at the university,” a release stated. 

Delaware River and Bay chief to serve on commission board

Delaware River and Bay Authority officials announced that the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) has appointed DRBA police administrator, Colonel Richard Arroyo, to serve as a commissioner on CALEA’s governing body.  His appointment is effective January 1, 2019.

    CALEA Commissioners serve a three-year term.  The 21 member, all-volunteer Commission is comprised of 11 law enforcement professionals and 10 representatives from the public and private sectors.

The Caesar Rodney Institute names advisory council member

The Caesar Rodney Institute (CRI) announced that Edwin J. Feulner Jr., PhD has joined CRI’s Advisory Council. Feulner is the founder and former president of the Heritage Foundation. 

Feulner was a consultant for Domestic Policy to President Reagan and a member of the President’s Commission on White House Fellows. He has also served as the Executive Director of the Republican Study Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives; United States Representative to the United Nations Second Special Session on Disarmament (with the rank of Ambassador) where he delivered the final United States address to the General Assembly; and also served on the Executive Committee of the President Transition during the transition from the Carter administration to the Reagan administration.

SoDel Concepts HR director nominated

Lisa Wheeler, the director of human resources for SoDel Concepts, has been nominated for the HR Innovator of the Year award, a category in the 2018 Human Resources Awards presented by Delaware Business Times and the Delaware Society for Human Resource Management.

Wheeler works for Rehoboth Beach-based SoDel Concepts, a hospitality group with 10 restaurants, Plate Catering and hospitality management and consulting divisions.

She was nominated for her ability to create and execute an HR plan to handle an unprecedented period of growth for the company within a short time frame.

 Wheeler put a priority on moving the application process and onboarding online. She then rolled out health plans and a 401(k) plan, both of which were key in attracting, managing and retaining talent, Kammerer said.

 Nanticoke Physician Network names associate  medical director

The Nanticoke Physician Network announced that Jennifer Ketterman has been named Associate Medical Director. In this position, Ketterman will work closely with Nanticoke’s Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer to promote and carry out the goals of the Physician Network.

Ketterman’s professional affiliations include the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, the Delaware Nurses Association, and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.

 Delmarva Poultry Industry honors flock supervisors

At Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc.’s (DPI) 53rd National Meeting on Poultry Health, Processing, and Live Production, eight flock supervisors from Delmarva’s five chicken companies received Outstanding Flock Supervisor awards.

The flock supervisors honored were: Steve Windsor, Mountaire Farms of Delmarva; Jessica Crabtree, Allen Harim Farms LLC; George Sherman, Perdue Foods Todd Hite, Jr., Tyson Foods, Inc.; Wade Parks, Amick Farms, LLC; Matt Campbell, Mountaire Farms of Delaware; Izaak Donohoe, Perdue Foods; and Emily Markey, Perdue Foods.
