DuPont names Ford chief HR officer

DuPont announced that Darrell Ford has been named chief human resources officer for the Specialty Products Division of DowDuPont, which is expected to become an independent company (future DuPont). He will report to Marc Doyle, CEO-elect for future DuPont and chief operating officer, DowDuPont Specialty Products Division. [Not a valid template]

Ford joins DuPont from Xerox, where he served as chief human resources officer responsible for the company’s human resource planning, sourcing, talent management, leadership development, pay and rewards, diversity, work environment and industrial relations. Ford’s previous experience includes HR leadership roles at Advanced Micro Devices, Shell Oil and Honeywell International.

Ford holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and an MBA and law degree from Rutgers University.

Dover Federal Credit Union names chief lending officer

Dover Federal Credit Union welcomed Vincent Setnar, who has accepted the role of Chief Lending Officer. Setnar previously held the position of Chief Member Officer at Tidemark Federal Credit Union, where he was responsible for lending, business services, marketing, and the branches. Setnar comes to Dover Federal with over 30 years of industry experience and over 15 years within credit unions, including Kirtland FCU and US Airways FCU. 

Krug joins Delaware Community Foundation staff

The Delaware Community Foundation welcomed Rebecca Klug as marketing and communications associate.

Klug previously worked as communications director for the Ministry of Caring, a Delaware nonprofit dedicated to serving people experiencing poverty and homelessness. Prior to that, Klug served as director of marketing for The Delaware Contemporary (formerly the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts) and as a communications specialist for the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and anthropology from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and a master’s in anthropology from the University of Iowa.

Delaware College of Art and Design names McBride to  Board of Trustees

Sarah McBride, an internationally known activist for LGBTQ+ rights who serves as the national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign, has been elected to the Delaware College of Art and Design Board of Trustees. She will serve a term through 2021.

McBride earned a bachelor’s degree from American University, where she served as student body president and made national headlines when she came out as a transgender woman in the institution’s student newspaper at the end of her presidency. The Wilmington native received her high school diploma from Cab Calloway School of the Arts, where DCAD recently launched a dual-credit program.

Delaware Tech honors Miro

Delaware Technical Community College’s Stanton and George Campuses  honored  Rep. Joseph E. Miró  for his commitment to the Hispanic community and culture in Northern Delaware at its 9th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Honoree Celebration.

Miró arrived in America in 1962 at the age of 15, having fled his native Cuba and the regime of Fidel Castro. As part of an opportunity created by President Kennedy, he relocated to Wilmington.  Miró attended Wilmington High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University and a Master of Arts degree from West Chester University.

Miró has been a State Representative since 1998. Prior to being elected for Delaware’s House of Representatives, he served six years as a County Councilman for New Castle County in Northern Delaware. He is a retired educator having served 31 years in Delaware’s school system. He also serves as the president and consultant for Miró Diversified Accounts.

Bayhealth welcomes family physician

Bayhealth Primary Care, Smyrna welcomed board-certified family medicine doctor Manpreet Komal, MD.

Komal comes to Bayhealth after completing training in Florida as a chief resident for family medicine, and receiving resident of the year honors. She earned her medical degree and a master’s of science from Saba University School of Medicine in Netherlands Antilles.

SVN-Miller advisor McClellan earns SIOR designation

SVN-Miller Commercial Real Estate Senior Advisor John McClellan, CCIM, SIOR has earned the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation. This designation is a professional symbol of the highest level of knowledge, production and ethics in the commercial real estate industry. With this accomplishment, McClellan joins SVN-Miller Senior Advisor Henry Hanna, CCIM, SIOR as the only two SIOR designees on the Eastern Shore. The real estate fcirm operates in Maryland and southern Delaware.
