American Airlines will launch  seasonal service between Philadelphia International Airport  and the popular winter destinations of Key West, Sarasota and Melbourne, FLA.

When the new service begins next winter, American will offer the only non-stop flights from PHL to Key West in the popular Keys and Melbourne on Florida’s central Atlantic coast.

American is facing increased competition as Frontier, Spirit and to some extent Southwest add or retain service. The carrier is taking a page out of Frontier’s playbook by offering the flights one or two days a week. The airline will use smaller regional jets.

The flights to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport ( will depart Philadelphia Saturday and Sunday at 8:05 a.m, arriving in at 10:55 a.m. beginning January 12. The return flight departs  Sarasota at 11:30 a.m., arriving in  Philadelphia  at 2:30 p.m.

The flights to Key West International Airport  and Orlando Melbourne International Airport will depart Saturdays starting February 16, giving travelers the only non- stop service from PHL to the southernmost point in the U.S. and the Space Coast, respectively.
