Sullivans operates more than a dozen steakhouses, including the location in north Wilmington. The small chain was sold by Del Frisco’s, which is focusing on its other brands that include steakhouses in larger markets.
Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, Inc. has about 70 restaurants that including Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Barcelona Wine Bar, bartaco, and Del Frisco’s Grille.
Romano’s Macaroni Grill closed the casual Italian restaurant on Concord Pike last year.
Romano’s, under new management, has been working to turn around its restaurants, which ended up in bankruptcy proceedings. Part of that strategy involves acquisitions.
Sullivan’s has about 15 locations, with the north Wilmington restaurant remaining a favorite special occasion dining spot. Del Frisco’s has not grown the Sullivan’s chain in recent years and has closed a few locations. Meanwhile, it has opened other concepts such as Del Frisco’s Grill.
