Section of Route 72 in Bear-Glasgow reopens

Crews from A-Del Construction, Newark,  removed detour signs on Sunday afternoon as a section of Route 72 north of Route was reopened to traffic.

The key connector highway had been closed for construction of a small bridge, just north of 40

The closing, combined with a similar project that closed Walther Road between Route 7 and Route 72 (Sunset Lake Road), has snarled traffic, especially on Salem Church Road during the evening rush

Nearby housing  developments also struggled with access during the closing.

The Delaware Department of Transportation had hoped for an early opening, but recent heavy rainfall produced delays.
