A North Carolina man was arrested earlier this month on charges related to identity theft.
Milford Police were called to the Citizens Bank branch at 610 N DuPont Blvd and found a man attempting to leave the business.
Officers were told the suspect had attempted to cash a check with a fake ID claiming to be another person.
Police identified the man as James Michael Patrick, 69 of North Carolina.
Offices determined that Patrick had a fake ID with the victim’s information on the
The bank contacted the company that issued a check and sent a photograph of the victim, who was not Patrick.
Patrick was charged with Identity Theft, Forgery 2nd Degree, and Attempted Theft By False Pretense Over $1, 500.
It was also learned that Patrick was wanted in Dauphin County, PA.
Patrick was placed in the custody of the Department of Correction in default of $9,000 bail.
Patrick was issued a no-contact order with all Citizen Bank locations.
