Artisans’ Bank adds to lending team

Artisans’ Bank announced the addition of Nicole Monroe-Cole to the Commercial Lending team. Monroe-Cole brings more than 15 years of vast work experience to Artisans’ including as a Sales Officer in Cash Management and a Relationship Manager for Small Business with WSFS.  [Not a valid template]

Simpler to head motor vehicle department

Jana Simpler has been hired as the new DMV Director and will join the Department on September 4, 2018.

Jana is currently the Director of the Delaware Office of Highway Safety (DE OHS). She started her career in highway safety in 1997, serving as the Deputy Director of DE OHS through 2009 and as the Director for the last eight years.

Simpler received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Wilmington University in 1997 and her Bachelors in Criminal Justice from the University of Delaware in 1993 She lives in Milton with her family.

Scott Vien, who had served as DMV Director for the last three years, left the Department at the beginning of August for a new position in the private sector.

Delaware Public Service Commission chairman appointed to board

Delaware Public Service Commission Chairman Dallas Winslow has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) effective August, 2018. He will serve a four-year term ending October 31, 2022.

Founded in 1889, NARUC is a non-profit organization dedicated to representing the State public service commissions who regulate the utilities that provide essential services such as energy, telecommunications, power, water, and transportation. NARUC’s members include all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

M&T names Kunkle vice president

J. Randall “Randy” Kunkle was named Vice President, Regional CRA Officer M&T’sDelaware and Maryland Eastern Shore markets.

In his new role, Kunkle is responsible for developing and implementing Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) programs to meet the credit and banking needs of the low-to-moderate income population in these markets. 

Prior to his role at M&T Bank, Kunkle served as Business Development Director at AHP Partnrs  and Community Development Executive for Bank of America.

Kunkle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration frolm Goldey-Beacom College.

 Kunkle currently serves as Board President and Loan Fund committee member forNCALL Research Inc and Board Vice President for Nehemiah Gateway CDC. 

Hughes gains designation

Santora CPA Group announced that Theresa L. Hughes, has achieved the designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA).  She is among a group of professionals who are recognized nationally for their excellence in the financial services industry.

 Hughes joined the firm in September 2017 as Executive Vice President of Personal Trust Services after having been in the personal trust business for 32 years.  She attained a B.S. in Banking and Finance from Wilmington University, as well as an MBA from the same school.  She also attended the ABA National Graduate Trust School.

The Nanticoke Physician Network welcomes Elayyan

The Nanticoke Physician Network welcomed Ahmad Elayyan, MD, to its medical staff. 

Elayyan specializes in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine.

Bensley named clerk of year

 Two successful elections, including the city’s first referendum in nearly two decades, were among several notable accomplishments earning Newark City Secretary Renee Bensley the honor of Delaware Clerk of the Year for 2018. The distinction, awarded by the Delaware Municipal Clerks Association (DMCA), will be formally presented on Thursday, September 27, at the League of Local Governments’ annual meeting in Dover.  

Bensley joined the City of Newark in March 2013. As City Secretary, Director of Legislative Services, and FOIA coordinator, she oversees a variety of administrative and legislative responsibilities including public meeting management, election efforts, and record retention and digitization. Prior to her current role, Bensley served as a legislative aide to New Castle County Councilwoman Lisa Diller.  

Dworsky joins Berkshire Hathaway

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors Newark Office, welcomed Dylan Dworskyas a sales associate. An active participant of his community, he is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors. Dworsky serves New Castle and Kent counties.
