State Police arrest Sussex business burglary suspect

The Delaware State Police have arrested a suspect in connection with multiple business burglaries in Sussex County

The incidents occurred during the week of July 9 in the overnight hours when the suspect entered multiple businesses and took an undisclosed amount of cash. Businesses include:

  • Lullibi Daycare
  • Mother Goose Daycare
  • Simply at Home Dog Kennel
  • Lotus Blossum Learning Center
  • Millsboro Daycare
  • The Rookery
  • The Ridings at Rehoboth

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old David A. Honeycutt of Rehoboth Beach.

On Tuesday, Honeycutt was apprehended at his girlfriend’s residence in the Ridings at Rehoboth development without incident.

He was transported back to Troop 4 where he is currently being charged with three counts of Burglary 3rd, Theft (Felony), Theft (Misdemeanor), three counts of Criminal Mischief, and two counts of Attempt to Commit Theft.

Additional charges are expected, troopers stated.
