Five found dead in Prices Corner home: Troopers say neighbors should not fear for safety

 Delaware State Police released the names of a family that was found dead in their residence Monday night.

They were identified as 42-year-old Matthew Edwards and his wife 41-year-old Julie Edwards, the children included; a six-year-old boy, f4-year-old girl, and three-year-old boy. The victims were located inside the home, all from an apparent gunshot wound. Matthew Edwards suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation began on Monday, night when troopers went to the 2700 block of Ferris Road off Route 141.

Upon arrival, troopers found five dead with apparent gunshot wounds including  a 42-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman,  and three children under  8 years. All were upstairs 

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. At this time, there is no reason for concern for safety for people in the surrounding area. The statement generally is made in reference to a suspected murder suicide

The discovery to a wave of speculation on social media, a common occurrence in such cases.

The bodies have been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death. The victims’ identities are being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
