This 7th annual Delaware  Burger Battle returns to the grounds of the Cauffiel House overlooking the Delaware River on Saturday, Aug. 25, the last Saturday of summer before Labor Day weekend.

Delaware chefs will gather to put their burgers on the line for judges and guests as they compete for fame and glory in three categories: Critic’s Choice, Alternative Burger and People’s Choice.

Confirmed restaurants include newcomers Ted’s Montana Grill, the University & Whist Club and Farmer & The Cow, returning trophy winners Chelsea Tavern, Home Grown Café, Maiale Deli & Salumeria, and Ulysses Gastropub, as well as challengers Tonic Bar and Grill, Metro Grill & Pub and Drip Café.

Two recent additions are newcomer University and Whist Club and multiple-trophy winner RedFire Grill & Steakhouse!

Proceeds from this all-volunteer-run event will benefit two Delaware nonprofits: the Food Bank of Delaware;  and the ProStart Program of the Delaware Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, which gives high school students real-life experience as it teaches culinary and management skills needed for a career in the restaurant and foodservice industry.
