Traffic in the Bear-Glasgow area will get more difficult with the closing of a key feeder road.

As part of the  Delaware Department of Transportation  efforts to complete important road projects in warm-weather months, Walther Road will be closed beginning Sunday through mid-September, to replace a small bridge.

The closure will take place at Barrett Run Drive and Cedar Ridge Ct/North Valley Stream Circle.

If construction goes well, Walther Road will re-open sooner than mid-September.

DELDOT  admits the closing will present traffic challenges, especially given the current closure of Route 72, which has moved some traffic to Salem Church Road. The Route 72 construction near Route 40 has been going well, and the hope is to re-open Route 72 in mid-August rather than the scheduled date of late-August, a DelDOT release stated.
