Riverboat Queen to return on Sunday

The Riverboat Queen will once again make her return to the Riverfront later this month, offering guests the chance to cruise the   Christina River and enjoy food and drink.

Beginning on May 13th,  the Riverboat Queen will begin weekly Sunday brunch and dinner cruises, as well as Thursday dinner cruises and other special events.

The two-hour cruises will head  down the Christina River, offering passengers a   view of the historic Riverfront and downtown Wilmington. Sunday cruises will depart at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30  p.m., with Thursday cruises departing at 6:30 p.m.  Cruises will feature food and drink, as well as various music and other live entertainment. The season kicks-off with a special Mother’s Day cruise on the 13th at 11:30 a.m.

In addition to public cruises, the Queen will also be available for private charter, working with parties of up to 80 people. 

“Last summer the Riverboat Queen made her return to the Wilmington Riverfront, and she was enthusiastically embraced by the community.”  Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware Executive Director Megan McGlinchey said,  “We are thrilled to bring her back for another  fun-filled season on the Christina.”

The Riverboat Queen is operated by the Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware (RDC), the non-profit organization charged with the revitalization of Wilmington’s Riverfront. The RDC recently marked their 22nd anniversary last month.
