Dogfish Head Craft Brewery has been issued  notices of violation from the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control over the installation of a generator in 2015.

The generator was part of a major expansion of Dogfish’s brewery in Milton. The company has grown to become one of the nation’s 15 largest craft breweries.

The generator, which uses an internal combustion engine, requires air quality permitting from DNREC.

According to DNREC document, the generator operated for nearly 9,500 hours before a permit was sought in 2017.

Dogfish Head CEO and founder Sam Calagione told the  Delaware Gatehouse newspapers  that the matter was a paperwork problem that is being resolved by the company.
