Chase plans to open a branch office in downtown  Wilmington.

The website of the financial services giant indicates the branch will open in the near future at  Second and Market streets near the company’s credit card headquarters. News of the branch had surfaced last spring in regulatory filings, according to Philly.com.

Also slated to open is a branch in Center City Philadelphia. A Chase spokesman did not respond to a request for comment on the branch.

JPMorgan Chase is believed to be Delaware’s largest for-profit employer, with only nonprofit Christiana Care Health System having a larger headcount among private employers. Chase had indicated a few years ago its headcount would move toward 10,000 in Delaware.

The financial services company has job sites throughout northern Delaware that include a technology hub in north Wilmington and a credit card headquarters in Christiana Gateway.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has stated that he  sees opportunities   in all of the company’s lines of businesses and plans to grow branches and other services that have been subject to cost-cutting by other banks.

Among its megabank rivals, Bank of America has slowly added branches in Delaware while closing offices elsewhere. Wells Fargo and PNC have maintained its branch presence in the state.

Chase is also investing heavily in mobile banking and recently rolled out  FINN  an app aimed at millennial customers.
