Reach Church acquires Cecil County Christian academy


Reach Church, Glasgow and Reach Christian Schools now own a Cecil County Christian school.

Under Betters, Reach, formerly Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church, acquiredRed Lion Christian Academy and Tall Oaks.

According to the release, on the page Reach offers traditional Christian education through Red Lion Christian Academy, Bear; classical education through Tall Oaks Classical School, Bear; homeschool education through Glasgow Christian Academy, and education for students with special needs through Journey Christian Academy.

The schools serve over 1, 000 students.

Reach Church has now acquired Tri-State Christian Academy.

TSCA was formerly known as Elkton Christian Academy, and has been in operation for over 50 years.

TSCA rents the campus of Crossroads Bible Church and will continue to operate at the location for the foreseeable future, a release stated.

TSCA is a pre-K-12 school with anenrollment of 330 students and offers a traditional education similar to that of Red Lion Christian Academy.

Tim Dernlan, Head of Reach Christian Schools, will oversee TSCA as well as the four other schools. A principal for the Elkton school will be hired.

According to a Facebook post, the past principal of TSCA is no longer with the school. That brought an outpouring of questions and concerns on the school’s Facebook page.

With the addition of TSCA, Reach Christian Schools is now a Christian school district of five schools located on three campuses partnering with over 700 families and 1,330 students.
