Wilmington-based developer, The Buccini/Pollin Group, Inc. (BPG) and BPGS Construction marked the opening of Mid-town Park Garage in downtown Wilmington. Also on hand for the ceremony was Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki.

The 511-space  parking space-structure is at 840 N. Orange Street.

Mid-town Park Garage marks a milestone in redevelopment downtown as it is the first underground parking garage in the City of Wilmington. It also adds more public parking to the downtown, following the condemnation of the first Mid-town parking structure.

The garage will not only support the local employers and apartment communities but will also aid retailers and restaurants on Market Street,  according to a BPG release.

The new Chelsea Plaza walkway, which will connect Market Street and Shipley Street is an outdoor patio that will allow visitors and residents access to Market Street and other downtown destinations from the garage. One dollar parking validation will be available for anyone who visits a downtown restaurant or entertainment venue.

The ceremony also marked the launch of pre-leasing for The Residences at Mid-town Park, a  community consisting of 200 apartments in two buildings and 12,000 square feet of retail space.

Scheduled to open in the Summer of 2018, the Residences at Mid-town Park will feature a demonstration kitchen and a dog washing station. An elevated courtyard will include a  swimming pool and barbecue area.

The Residences at Mid-town Park will offer studios, one and two-bedroom apartments with stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops and high-end finish details throughout, the release stated.

Other amenities include a fitness center, screening room and resident lounge.
