The Delaware Burger Battle will return this summer, with a new beneficiary.
This seventh annual Burger Battle will once against take place on the grounds of the Cauffiel House, off Philadelphia Pike and overlooking the Delaware River, on Aug. 25, the last Saturday of summer before Labor Day Weekend.
This year, net proceeds from this all-volunteer-run event will benefit two Delaware nonprofits:
- The Food Bank of Delaware
- Delaware ProStart, a program of the Delaware Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. The program gives high school students real-life experience as it teaches culinary and management skills needed for a career in the restaurant and foodservice industry.
Last year, the Delaware Burger Battle raised more than $10,000 for its 2017 beneficiaries. The Battle has donated more than $47,000 to Delaware nonprofits over the past six years. The Ministry of Caring had been a recipient of funds.
Any restaurant interested in entering the Burger Battle Arena can contact JulieAnne Cross at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Burger Battle attendees enjoy all the burger samples they can eat from participating restaurants. Beer and wine are included in the ticket price for adults, while soft drinks are available for children and designated drivers. Tickets will go on sale on June 1.
