The 27th Annual First State Gridiron Dinner & Show will honor  Richard  “Rich” Heffron, with the Community Service Award.

Erik P. Williams, head  of the executive committee for the event said,  “Rich Heffron has spent more than 30 years devoting himself to the improvement of the State of Delaware. As Senior Vice President and then as President of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, his bipartisan leadership has enabled him to work with both ‘sides’ to bring about positive change and progress. We are indeed privileged to honor Rich as he retires from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. We hope that Rich’s many friends and associates will join him for this very special evening.”

The 27thpresentation of Delaware’s annual dinner and political roast will be held on Saturday, May 5 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. This year’s event will again benefit The William P. Frank Foundation, named after one of Delaware’s leading journalists, and will support Delaware Futures, a scholarship program founded by former Wilmington Mayor and Delaware Cong.  Harry G. “Hal” Haskell.

The Gridiron Show is an evening of good-humored roasting of people, places and businesses with song-and-dance routines, video skits and the governor’s State of the Gridiron address. This year’s show features a special performance by the Capitol Steps, a nationally-known political satire group.
