The 96-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Wilmington will hold a soft opening on Thursday.
Located at 1300 North Market Street, the all-suite Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Canon Hospitality Management.
The new Residence Inn is the first hotel to open in downtown Wilmington in 20 years. Owners converted a former downtown office building into hotel space. (See the previous story below).
Located 20 miles from Philadelphia International Airport, the Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown is within walking distance to numerous offices and restaurants.

The Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown is an all-suite hotel that offers studio and one-bedroom suites.
Features will include a well-lit work desk, ergonomic chair and complimentary high-speed Internet access. Designed for stays of five nights or more, each suite also has a fully-equipped kitchen with a coffeemaker, microwave oven and residential-sized appliances.
The Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown will offer a free hot breakfast every day, with bacon and eggs, Greek yogurt, cut fruit or waffles and toppings, ranging from fresh spinach and cheese to sliced almonds and strawberries.
Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown will also offer public spaces for guests to relax or collaborate.
The hotel will also offer grocery delivery service, complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour onsite food and beverage market, dry cleaning services, and onsite guest laundry room.
The hotel maintains a business library where guests can fax, copy and print materials. Also offered is a fitness center and two meeting rooms with a total of 1,590 square feet to accommodate functions of up to 49 people.
The hotel will feature an on-site restaurant.
