Gov. John Carney and Jennifer Cohan, secretary of the Delaware Department of Transportation, will discuss investments in transportation infrastructure statewide, and new transportation initiatives, and take questions on infrastructure and the state economy.
The conference comes as the state faces questions about transportation investments.
In northern Delaware, Route 141 is becoming a difficult commute, with long-running bridge work on its southern end and a previously scheduled project to the north in the Greenville area.
Rapid population growth in Kent and Sussex County is also leading to increasing congestion and calls for improvements.
Another issue is DART bus service, which is also under the Department of Transportation umbrella. Riders remain unhappy with a decision to change routes and run fewer buses to a hub in Wilmington’s Rodney Square.
