Juvenile arrested for thefts involving Letgo app

New Castle County Police Patrol Officers have arrested a 17-year-old  from Bear for multiple theft charges.

On Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the unit block of Gladstone Way in the neighborhood of Christiana Townhouses for a theft of a cell phone. 

Patrol officers learned that the victim had utilized the popular Letgo app to sell her phone.  Police stated that the suspect met with the victim and then ran away with her phone under the ruse that he was going to examine it.

During the course of this investigation, another victim was found and stated that a subject matching the description of the earlier juvenile suspect took his cell phone as well.

The suspect was later seen in the area by the patrol officers and taken into custody.

The juvenile was charged two counts of misdemeanor Theft and arraigned by New Castle County Family Court.  The juvenile was held on $500 secured bail.
