College Ave Student Loans appoints two

College Ave Student Loans announced two key appointments to its leadership team: Lisa Strauch Eggers has joined the team as Chief Legal Officer, and Angela Colatriano has been named Chief Marketing Officer.

Strauch Eggers most recently served in the Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer based in Paris. Prior to that, she was the Interim General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer for Eddie Bauer, where she led their legal team in all domestic and international legal matters. She also served as the first-ever Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Callison, a private equity-backed international professional services firm, where she was responsible for establishing the legal department and leading the company through its sale to a publicly-traded company. She was the first international lawyer for Starbucks. Strauch Eggers earned a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Colatriano is responsible for driving College Ave’s product platform and strategies, acquisition investments, customer experience and brand. Before being named Chief Marketing Officer, Colatriano served as Director of Product & Brand Management for the company. She is a founding member of College Ave’s leadership team, having joined the company for its launch in 2014.

Prior to joining College Ave, Colatriano was a Senior Director at Sallie Mae, as well as Upromise by Sallie Mae, where she was responsible for enrollment and member engagement through the Upromise Rewards platform.

Heldorfer joins Delaware Geological Survey as Business Administrator

Denise T. Heldorfer joined the Delaware Geological Survey (DGS) as the Business Administrator in January 2018.  Heldorfer has been with the University of Delaware since 2002. Before joining the DGS, she worked in the Lerner College of Business and Economics, including eight years in the Delaware Small Business Development Center. Heldorfer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing from the Pennsylvania State University.

Heldorfer is responsible for establishing, managing, and coordinating the integrated fiscal and administrative operations of the Survey. She monitors and reconciles all accounting revenue and

expenditures, as well as administering all DGS grant proposals.

Lis joins Fox & Roach

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtor Brandywine Office, welcomed Megan C. Lis as a sales associate. Formerly with Long & Foster, Lis is an active member in her community.

Mary Campbell center appoints new members to board

The Mary Campbell Center is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Joining the Board are Janis L. Julian, Christina L. Richter and Eugene A. Delle Donne.

Julian recently served as Director of Community Strategy for WSFS Bank and is now self-employed as a strategic consultant, nonprofit advisor and career and life coach.

 Richter has had a career in development for many nonprofit organizations and currently is Vice President of Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.

Delle Donne is Vice President of Delle Donne & Associates, specializing in commercial property development, leasing and property management.

Since 1976, The Mary Campbell Center has been a home for people with disabilities. The Center also offers respite care and day programs for adults, as well as after-school and summer programs for children with disabilities and their families.

McKeon to head fiduciary risk area at Wilmington

Wilmington Trust has appointed Robert McKeon as Head of Fiduciary Risk Management. In this role, he will confirm that Wilmington Trust is meeting its fiduciary responsibilities both structurally, through policy, process and governance, and functionally, as a professional trustee. 

McKeon has nearly two decades of experience in fiduciary compliance, corporate governance and fiduciary risk management. Before joining Wilmington Trust, he served as a senior director and lead fiduciary officer at Capital One. Previously, he held positions at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. 

“As regulatory, legal and competitive pressures evolve, Robert will make sure we continue to embed the best practices throughout the company,” said Don DiCarlo, Chief Fiduciary Officer, Wilmington Trust. “He has a tremendous depth of experience across the areas of risk and compliance and is uniquely positioned to advance the complex risk mitigation and wealth management needs of our clients.”

McKeon holds a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University Law School.

Griffiths named to DSU Board

The Delaware State University Board of Trustees has welcomed its newest member with the swearing of Norman D. Griffiths, a retired DuPont attorney and Wilmington City Council member.

Appointed by Gov. John Carney,  Griffiths was sworn in by Tom Preston, DSU interim general counsel, during the Board’s regular Jan. 30 Board meeting. He succeeds David Turner whose term ended on Jan. 26.

Griffiths served for 32 years as an in-house legal counsel for DuPont, retiring in June 2015. While advising DuPont officials and their clients on numerous areas of law, he also served 20 years (1992-2012) on the Wilmington City Council – 16 years as an elected councilman and four years as the council president. During that period, he served as the chair of the council’s Finance, Public Safety and Cable Communications committees.

He has served on the boards of Delaware Technical and Community College, the Riverfront Development Corporation, Wilmington Downtown Visions, Christiana Care Health System,  Wilmington Economic Development Corp., and others.

Griffiths earned a 1980 Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from American University and a 1983 Juris Doctorate from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law, both schools in Washington, D.C.

Lo joins Wilmington Trust as chief wealth strategist

 Wilmington Trust announced that it has appointed Alvina Lo as Chief Wealth Strategist. In this role, Lo will oversee the wealth planning, strategic advice and thought leadership services for Wilmington Trust’s fast-growing Wealth Advisory division. She will be responsible for managing a national team of strategists, financial planners and thought leaders who advise high-net-worth individuals and families, business owners and entrepreneurs, and foundations and endowments. 

Lo has more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining Wilmington Trust, she served as the director and senior wealth planner for Citi Private Bank. Previously, she was a director at Credit Suisse and, earlier in her career, practiced law at Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, LLP in the Trust & Estates Group. 

Lo holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a Professional Tax Certificate in Estate Planning from New York University School of Law. She is also a published author on estate planning matters and has lectured at the American Bar Association, New York City Bar and the Barron’s Top Women Advisors Summit.
