Boulden Brothers has broken ground on a new headquarters in its hometown of Newark.
“This new facility has been designed from the ground up so our team can better serve even more of our neighbors,” says Tim Boulden, president of Boulden Brothers. “We’re proud to continue the Boulden Brothers tradition of family service to our community begun in 1946.”
The company has been operating out of various locations, including an office in the New Castle area.
The company was founded in 1946 by Omar & Urie Boulden, Sr. as a coal delivery company.
The company is now in its third generation with second-generation owner Urie Boulden, Jr. joining Tim and Mike at the groundbreaking.
Boulden Brothers will offer heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and propane services from the headquarters at 107 Sandy Drive.
In addition to Tim, Mike, Urie and Cindy Boulden, Gary Stockbridge, president of Delmarva Power and chairman of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, and Polly Sierer, Mayor of Newark assisted in breaking ground on the new 12,000 square foot building
The building is scheduled to be completed this September of this year.
The company entered and exited various businesses, including water, sanitation services and oil. It went on to operate franchises for its electrical and heating and air-conditioning businesses but later rebranded under the Boulden Brothers name.
