Milford Police have arrested an employee of a popular restaurant on theft charges.
Earlier in the week, police were called to Abbott’s Grill located at 249 NE Front St. Police were told an employee at the business, advised that another employee had stated that he would not be returning to work because he would be in trouble for stealing checks from the business.
Management staff checked their records and found that several checks had been written out to the suspect for large amounts and the checks were allegedly signed by representatives of the company.
Further investigation revealed that the checks were cashed at a local retail shop nearby for nearly $1,500
The suspect was identified as Jonathan Wright, 29 of Milford,
He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Forgery 2nd Degree, one count of Theft by False Pretense Over $1, 500 USC, and one count of Theft Over $1,500 USC.
He was released on $4000 bond.
