Planet Fitness to open a new location west of Wilmington
Planet Fitness announced a new location west of Wilmington at 2201 Farrand Drivel
Planet Fitness will mark the opening in Wilmington with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at 10 a.m.
The new Wilmington facility, in a portion of a former Best Buy store, totals 22,374 total square.feet and offers cardio machines and strength equipment, a 30-Minute Express Circuit and a fully equipped Black Card Spa with HydroMassage beds, a Total Body Enhancement booth, massage chairs, tanning beds and other features. The facility will be open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Planet Fitness has extended its judgment free philosophy outside of its gyms and into communities with its national philanthropic initiative, “The Judgement Free Generation.”
Working with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), Planet Fitness aims to empower a generation of teens to grow up contributing to a more judgment-free planet – a place where everyone feels accepted and like they belong,” a release stated.
“We’re thrilled to extend our Judgement Free fitness experience in Wilmington, and we encourage everyone to come check out the new club, meet our friendly staff, get a tour and see what the Judgement Free Zone is all about,” said Mike Hochniuk, director of Corporate Club Operations at Planet Fitness.

The additional cost PF Black Card membership includes additional amenities such as the ability to bring a guest every day at no additional charge, access to all 1,400-plus Planet Fitness locations, as well as access to massage beds and chairs and tanning, among other benefits.
Planet Fitness also provides members with an opportunity to connect and support each other with “Planet of Triumphs.” Planet of Triumphs provides an online platform for members to recognize their triumphs (big or small), share their stories and encourage others, reinforcing the Company’s belief that ‘everyone belongs’.
