Delaware’s newest brewery is slated to open on Super Bowl Sunday in Glasgow.

Midnight Oil Brewing is kicking off its  opening  a day earlier with a $40 a head ticket price that will include three beers, tours and free food from adjacent food trucks. The event is sold out.

The brewery will open to the public on Feb. 4, Super Bowl Sunday.

The brewery is located in the Pencader office, industrial and warehouse complex south of Newark on Route 896. Owners had originally announced a late 2017 opening.

Such delays are common in getting inspections and permits through the pipeline.

Midnight Oil will have a half a dozen or so beers on tap.

Start-up breweries and meaderies have been opening in industrial parks, due in part to county regulations. Those restrictions have been loosened.

The county does have a number of brewpubs that combine on-site beer production with a restaurant.

Stewart’s Brewing Co. in Bear and the growing Iron Hill group were pioneers in rolling out brewpubs in the past couple of decades.

Midnight Oil Brewing plans to open in Glasgow late this year
