Spotluck dining app expands to Newark


Spotluck,a discount dining app, has added seven Newark restaurants. Earlier, the Washington, D.C. company announced it had signed up restaurants in Wilmington.

The company now operates in New York City, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and suburbs, Richmond and Baltimore. More than 1,000 restaurants participate

See story below for further details on how the app for Android and IOS systems works. Restaurants typically offer 10 to 15 percent discounts, with a once-a-day spin feature featuring one restaurant with greater savings. No chain restaurants are offered on the app.

The system typically offers higher discounts during off hours when dining patterns or weather can hold down business.


In Newark, the app will be available in seven local restaurants with plans to for further expansion in coming months:Catherine Rooney’s,Home Grown Cafe,Caffe Gelato,Margherita’s Pizza,La Casa Pasta,Klondike Kate’s, andArena’s Deli & Bar. The number of restaurants in Wilmington now numbers 15, according to the app.
