A Milford woman has been charged with felony theft after an investigation determined she took nearly $28,000 from a local booster club.
Stephanie L. Trimmer, 42 of Milford, was arrested and charged with one count of Theft over $1,500.00 on Thursday after detectives were alerted to the missing money.
.On June 1, officials with the Cape Henlopen School District told detectives that the boys high school lacrosse booster account had a negative balance and should have contained several thousands of dollars. Stephanie Trimmer, who was the President of the booster club, was the only person since 2016 to have full access to this account.

Detectives determined that starting around February of 2016, Trimmer would go to various banks throughout eastern Sussex County and write checks out to herself for cash and fail to turn in receipts to the treasurer.
She continued to do this up until March of 2017 at which time she had depleted the account of the nearly $28,000 balance.
Trimmer was arraigned and released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
