Zenbanx, a financial technology provider offering the industry’s only mobile multi-currency account,  introduced “conversational banking,” the ability for customers to use messaging platforms to sign-in, check balances, get exchange rates, and send money from their Zenbanx account without ever leaving their conversation.

WeChat, one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, is the first messaging platform to adopt Zenbanx’s conversational banking feature, a simple and secure solution for saving, exchanging, sending currencies internationally and domestically within WeChat. The pilot is now available in Canada and is expected to expand to the United States in 2017.  Tencent, which owns WeChat, is an early investor in Zenbanx.

“We’re privileged to leverage our partnership with Tencent Holdings Limited to provide the users of WeChat the ease of accessing their Zenbanx account to send money while chatting with family and friends,” said Arkadi Kuhlmann , CEO and Founder of Zenbanx. “Conversational banking is another step in simplifying our customers’ financial lives, which is part of Zenbanx’s ongoing mission.”

To begin using Zenbanx within WeChat, users first “follow” the Zenbanx Official Account and authorize the messaging app to access their Zenbanx account. Customers sending money will choose a recipient from their messaging app contacts. The sender then chooses the currency and amount the same way they do in the Zenbanx App.  Once the money is sent, the recipient will see a message in their chat that they will tap to get the money.  Both the sender and receiver will get a confirmation of the transaction.

Zenbanx customers should expect additional conversational banking availability in other popular messaging platforms such as iMessage, Siri and Facebook in 2017.
