Two  Wilmington businesspeople will be honored today for their work in the Southbridge community.

For several decades, Charles and Naomi Smith ran a business in Southbridge that was more than a dry cleaner.

The Smiths were known for their civic activities and church involvement.

As host for one of the longest running leased access cable television programs   Smith became  a household name.  Charles Smith died following a car accident.  His wife Naomi died a year before his passing.

Their work will be memorialized when the street adjacent to their business is posthumously renamed after them.  The Wilmington City Council and Mayor Dennis P. Williams will be on hand for a ceremony at 11 a.m. at  Sepia Cleaners 336 South Heald Street.
