Gilchrist sworn in as Family Court commissioner

Gretchen C. Gilchrist was publicly sworn in for her first term as a Commissioner of the Family Court of the State of Delaware last week. at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 18,

Gilchrist replaces  Louann Vari who became a Family Court Judge earlier this year.

Prior to her appointment,  Gilchrist operated her own law firm in Smyrna for six years where she specialized in family law and estate planning. Commissioner Gilchrist also worked as a Legislative Advisor to the Wilmington City Council from 2003 to 2009 and served as a volunteer attorney for Delaware Volunteer Legal Services.

Commissioner Gilchrist received her bachelor’s degree from Hampton University in 1988 and her law degree from Widener University Delaware Law School in 1991.
