DelDOT announces Thanksgiving holiday transit schedules

septaDelDOT announced Thanksgiving transit schedules and cautioned motorists about increased traffic. 

Higher traffic volumes can be expected on Delaware’s major corridors beginning Wednesday, November 23, as the Thanksgiving holiday gets underway.

Planned lane closures on Delaware’s major roadways are suspended between now and 12 a.m., Tuesday. 

DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center (TMC) and WTMC-1380 AM provides motorists real-time traffic conditions throughout the state.  Motorists can contact the TMC 24/7 to report any travel or traffic related issues at the following numbers:  Dial #77 from any cell phone; (302) 659-4600; or 1-800-324-8379.

Motorists can adjust their routes or travel times by using DelDOT’s Smartphone application.  The DelDOT App is available for Apple & Android smartphones and tablets and can be downloaded free at the Apple and Google Play stores or go towww.DelDOT.gov and click on the link to stores.

DART First State’s statewide transit services, for both fixed route and paratransit service, will not operate on Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 25, DART services will operate on their regular schedules. Additional transit information can be found on DART’s website at www.DartFirstState.com

 SEPTA Wilmington/Newark Line will operate on Thanksgiving Day with service to Claymont and Wilmington.  The line will operate on the holiday schedule which is the same as their normal Saturday/Sunday schedule. 

For additional information, please contact www.SEPTA.org.  DART’s Transportation Store at the Wilmington Station will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.  Train passengers are encouraged to purchase their train fares in advance.  The On-Board fare can also be paid on the train, and a credit for the difference can be received at a Philadelphia SEPTA ticket counter.
