The Philadelphia intellectual property law firmPanitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel announced  that two of its attorneys have been elected to leadership roles in the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association (PIPLA) for the 2016 – 2017 program year. John D. Simmons will serve as President-Elect and Keith A. Jones will serve on the Board of Governors.

Simmons is a member of the Delaware Bar.

“PIPLA brings together IP lawyers from around the region to promote intellectual property protection, so that IP-driven companies can continue to focus on producing the discoveries that change lives, every day, here in Philadelphia and around the world,” said Simmons, an engineer and inventor in his own right, in addition to being an intellectual property attorney.

A partner at Panitch Schwarze, Simmons focuses his practice on IP litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secrets infringement, computer fraud and abuse, cybersquatting and licensing/contract disputes.

Jones, an associate at Panitch Schwarze, focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secrets litigation, as well as unfair competition.
