Winners were honored Wednesday night by Delaware Bio at the organization’s annual dinner at the DuPont Country Club.
Delaware Bio is the trade association for the state’s biotechnology industry.
Winners were as follows:
Company of the Year – Vance Kershner, President and CEO LabWare. Labware is a company that develops and implements Laboratory Information Management Systems and Electronic Laboratory Notebooks.
Government Official – U.S. Rep. John Carney.
Service – Helen Stimson, vice president & general manager, Chemistries and Supplies Division, Agilent Technologies, Wilmington.
Innovation – Bryan Tracy, Ph.D., CEO and Co-Founder, White Dog Labs, New Castle.
Academic research – Kelvin Lee, Ph.D., Gore Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Delaware
Educator K to 12 – Melanie Mundell, Biotechnology Teacher, Newark Charter School
Educator of the Year Higher Education – Malcolm D’Souza, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry and Associate Dean of Interdisciplinary/Collaborative Sponsored Research, Wesley College,
