The National Weather Service has issued Tornado Watch until 11 p.m. for portions of southern NJ, southeast PA, DE, and MD. The watch area includes areas in yellow.
The watch area includes the entire state of Delaware and the Delmarva Peninsula.
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms will quickly move northeast across the watch area through this evening. Primary threats include a few tornadoes and scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph.
The service said those residing in the watch areas should check the sky and seek shelter if threatening weather approaches. Residents can also listen to NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards or visit weather.gov/phi for later statements and possible warnings.
The weather office is looking for reports of tornadoes/funnel clouds, wind gusts of 40 mph or greater, any-sized hail, flooding, and of course any damage (including photos).
