Development of Woodlawn land draws fire: Delaware Public Media

wilmington uTo call it another Battle of the Brandywine might be a bit of a stretch, but one skirmish is under way and another could be brewing in zonings involving Wilmington-based Woodlawn Trustees.

In Concord Township, Pa. near the state line, residents and at least two groups are fighting plans for a project called Vineyard Commons.

Meanwhile, Wilmington University has filed plans to build a satellite campus at the southwest corner of Concord Pike and Beaver Valley Road, across the street from Concord Mall.

Save the Valley, a two-year-old  group started by Jason Hoover, a 28-year-old website developer, is the only organization actively opposing both projects.’

“We don’t want to come across as anti-Wilmington University, but we are anti-development,” Hoover says of his group. Click here for the full story from Delaware Public Media
