US Airways Planes at Sky HarborUS Airways is adding seasonal service to the Edinburgh on May 23 through Oct. 1.

It’s the first time the carrier has served the Scottish capital. Flights are in addition to seasonal service between Philadelphia and Glasgow.

An economy fare runs about $1,500 round-trip in July. The city is the sixth in the United Kingdom and the 18th in Europe to be served by US Airways.

Flights from Philadelphia leave in the evening and depart at mid-morning. US Airways will use the Boeing 757 jet.

Thanks to an improving economy and relative stability in fuel prices, service levels have remained steady in Philly, with some additions to the schedule as feeder planes are shifted from the American to US Airways systems and a few international flights are added.
