The sale of the Newark Post, the Cecil Whig and other Chesapeake Publishing sites have been greeted with cautious optimism.

A new owner could mean a new start after years of cutbacks and a former landlord  who sometimes did not too much meddling from far away.

Still,  the imposingly named American Consolidated Media  deserves some credit in steering newspapers  toward a digital world.
