DuPont has named Patrick Lindner as president of its Performance Polymers business effective March 1.

He succeeds Diane Gulyas who plans to retire in April following 36 years of service to the company.

“Diane has provided outstanding leadership, ingenuity and endless energy on behalf of DuPont for 36 years.  Her contributions have been impactful on many fronts including business leadership, mentoring and functional excellence.  She will be missed and we wish Diane all the best,” said DuPont Senior Vice President James C. Collins, Jr.  “Pat’s customer-facing experience coupled with his strong science background has prepared him well to lead the Performance Polymers business into the future.  He will help drive the advancement of our renewably sourced polymers further into the marketplace, addressing customers’ emerging needs for sustainable innovations.”

Lindner has served in a diverse range of business and technology leadership positions after starting with DuPont as a chemist in 1996. Lindner provided leadership to DuPont’s successful acquisition of Danisco before assuming his current role in 2011 as global business director for growth of the Electronics & Communications segment.

Gulyas has led several DuPont businesses, including as group vice president of Performance Materials, and she also served as the company’s Chief Marketing & Sales officer.  She was appointed to her current role as president of Performance Polymers in 2009.  Gulyas is on the board of directors of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and she also provides leadership to several community organizations, including the United Way of Delaware, Ministry of Caring and Delaware Nature Society.

Dunn named WSFS Senior VP

WSFS Financial Corporation, parent company of WSFS Bank,  announced that Justin C. Dunn has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Marketing. Previously he was Vice President and Director of Marketing Strategies and Product Development.

Dunn now leads Corporate Marketing for WSFS and provides strategic marketing support for Retail, Commercial and Wealth Management businesses, divisions and subsidiaries; he is responsible for the planning, development and execution of all marketing activities including: product development, market research, advertising and brand management, communications and media relations.

Before joining WSFS in 2011,  Dunn was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Susquehanna Bank where he was responsible for the development and implementation of company-wide sales and marketing initiatives across a network of 220 retail branches.

Dunn has over 10 years of experience in marketing and product management within the financial services industry.

Dunn graduated from Lynchburg College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association School of Bank Marketing & Management, the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Advanced School of Banking, and Rutgers University’s South Jersey Regional Leadership Institute. Dunn volunteers at the Mary Campbell Center and resides in Greenville, Delaware with his wife and family.

Promotions at Master Sidlow

Certified Public Accounting and Consulting firm of Master, Sidlow, & Associates, P.A., Wilmington announced the following promotions:

 Dennis Perdue was promoted  to Principal.  Dennis has worked at Master, Sidlow & Associates, P.A. since January 1999 and holds a degree in accounting  from the University of Delaware. Perdue provides audit, tax and accounting services to clients in  the construction, manufacturing, real estate, and financial services industries.

Perdue is a certified public accountant and is a member of the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

 Margaret Podsiad was promoted to  Principal.  Margaret has worked at Master, Sidlow & Associates, P.A. since July 1997 and holds a degree in accounting from the University of Delaware. Ms. Podsiad provides audit, tax and accounting services to investment management firms and closely held businesses, and pension audits.

Podsiad is a certified public accountant and a member of the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants and the  American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  In addition, Margaret is a finance committee member for Read Aloud Delaware and treasurer for Americans of Polish Descent Cultural Society (AMPOL).

 Matthew Malriat was promoted  to Senior Accountant.  Matt joined Master, Sidlow & Associates, P.A. in January 2011 and holds a Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and  Computer Science from West Chester University.

Malriat is a member of the Accounting and Assurance Services department and provides audit, tax and accounting services to a variety of firm clients. Matt is a member of the Delaware  Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Becker Morgan promotions

Becker Morgan Group announced  the following promotions.

Jason R. Pearce, AIA, CDT, LEED AP, Architect in the Salisbury, Md. office was named Senior Associate. With a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Pearce started as an intern in 1995 and has been with the firm for the past 19 years.

Brenden D. Frederick, AIA, LEED AP, Architect in the Salisbury, MD office was named Senior Associate. Frederick joined Becker Morgan Group 10 years ago after earning his Master of Architecture at Tulane University. He is President Elect of American Institute of Architects (AIA) Chesapeake Bay Chapter and serves on the AIA Maryland Board of Directors.

Garth E. Jones, P.E., LEED AP, Civil Engineer in the Dover, DE office was named Associate. He has been with the firm for 10 years and has over 20 years of engineering experience. Jones earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the University of Delaware and is a licensed engineer in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. He now serves as chairperson of the Sussex County Partnering Committee for American Council of Engineering Companies of Delaware

Jonathan S. Falkowski, E.I.T., Civil Designer in the Dover, DE office was named Associate. Falkowski earned his Bachelor of Applied Sciences at the University of Delaware and Associate of Applied Science in Civil Engineering Technology at Delaware Technical Community College. He has been with the firm for 9 years.

Lawson named Artisans’ VP

Artisans Bank announced  the promotion of Michael Lawson to Vice President, Security & Loss Prevention Officer. Lawson is responsible for overall security at the Banks Headquarters as well as all twelve (12) branch banking locations in Delaware. He is also responsible for fraud identification and prevention, physical security, investigations, and security based banking regulations at the Bank.

Lawson joined the Bank in 2012 and has over 23 years of experience in financial crimes investigations and law enforcement. Prior to joining the Bank, . Lawson was a Financial Crimes Investigator in the Financial Crimes Unit of the Wilmington Police Department. He joined the Wilmington Police Department in 1989 and has been investigating major crimes since 1998.

Lawson is Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1 and is a member of the Executive Board of Directors with the Delaware State Lodge FOP. He is also a board member for several other organizations: Delaware Crime Stoppers, the Greater Hockessin Area Development Association and Delaware Technical Community College Development Council.

Keely named Rotary president

Paul Keely of Newark has been elected as the next president of the Newark Morning Rotary Club. As the club president, Keely will coordinate the club’s community and international service projects. He will assume office on July 1, 2014, and serve through June 30, 2015.

“As local leaders and volunteers, Rotarians help our community find solutions to local needs,” he said. Keely’s goals for his presidential year include expanding the club’s local projects and continue over 40 projects already in place (including a homework club for at‐risk grade schools students), and initiating an international project involving clean water supply to impoverished African communities.

A business owner and marketing communications specialist, Keely is also involved in the community through raising dog guides for The Seeing Eye (currently working with #8), serving the poor with Knights of Columbus, and music ministry at his parish of Holy Angels.

Schultz named Engineer of Year.

AstraZeneca senior project manager Suzette (Sue) Schultz has been selected by the Philadelphia area’s engineering and technical societies as the 2014 Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year.  Engineer of the Year recognizes an individual who has pursued a career of achievement and leadership, is a person of stature and visibility, represents the engineering profession well and proudly acclaims its virtues.

Schultz, a chemical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, is the second woman to receive the Engineer of the Year distinction since the program’s inception more than 60 years ago.

She was honored at an award luncheon on Friday, February 21 in Philadelphia.  Sue was also profiled in the Philadelphia Business Journal, and received additional recognition throughout Delaware Valley Engineers Week (February 14-22, 2014), which is part of a national engineering observance.  Delaware Valley Engineers Week and the Engineer of the Year program are sponsored by the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia.

“Sue’s impressive list of professional accomplishments as a chemical engineer coupled with her dedication to growing the engineering field, especially among young women today, really distinguished her as the top candidate for Engineer of the Year,” said Susan Best, PE, Executive Director of the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia.

In her current role at AstraZeneca, Sue oversees the product launch process for drugs across the company’s key therapeutic areas: cardiovascular and metabolic disease; oncology; and respiratory, inflammation and autoimmunity.  Sue is also involved in a number of organizations that help to give back to the community and promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields to local youth.
