Becker’s Hospital Review has named Randall Gaboriault, vice president and chief information officer at Christiana Care, as one of the 100 Hospital and Health System CIOs to Know.
The publication bases its selection on leaders’ abilities to leverage existing and new technology to further the mission of their organizations while elevating the level of patient care: “These CIOs have spent their careers seeing the opportunity in challenges and innovating new solutions in a constantly changing field, making themselves invaluable figures in their hospital or health systems’ executive teams.”
Since Gaboriault joined Christiana Care in 2010, the Information Technology Department has received national recognition for several innovations to improve clinical excellence and the delivery of care.
In 2012 Christiana Care received a $10 million grant from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation to design a new care model harnessing an information-technology data hub and predictive analytics for patients with ischemic heart disease. Last year, Computerworld named Gaboriault a Premier 100 IT Leader honoree for his leadership in the development of innovative and effective IT strategies.
