Fire causes damage at Sutton Bus Co., apartments

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a building fire in the Stanton area west of Wilmington.

The blaze, reported shortly after 6:30 pm, occurred at the Sutton Bus Company in the 5600 block of Old Capitol Trail near Delaware Park.

  The Mill Creek Fire Company extinguished the fire along with the assistance of neighboring fire companies.

State fire investigators are on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. The building consists of six apartments along with the office for the bus company. Six residents will be assisted by the American Red Cross.

Fire damage is estimated at $25,000. No injuries were reported.
