Capriotti’s  will open  its first D.C. location at 1800 M St. NW on Thursday.

It’s the first of many that franchisee  George Vincent Jr. is planning for the region. Vincent would like to have four to five locations open a year from now.

The company got its start on Union Street Wilmington and expanded from Delaware to Las Vegas, its current headquarters. The company is undergoing a national expansion and now has stores as far west as Beverly Hills, Calif.

The sub shop may be best known for its Bobbie, a sandwich with fresh turkey, stuffing, mayo and cranberries.
