The Newark Police Department has scheduled a community forum to discuss the arrest of Scott J. Bicking. The co-owner of The Pond ice arena was arrested on September 6th for inappropriate physical contact with two juveniles at the arena.
Recognizing that the investigation may leave families with questions concerning Bicking’s arrest, the Newark Police decided to host the event to address questions and concerns. The forum will take place on Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Newark High School Auditorium.
Representatives from the Newark Police Department, state Department of Justice, the Child Advocacy Center of Delaware, and the Delaware Ducks ice hockey organization will be on hand to field questions. Professionals will offer tools and techniques on how to speak to children about this incident. Additionally, victim service providers will be available to provide crisis counseling, and resource referral.
