The World Trade Center Delaware presented the “Hank” Award for Innovation in Economic Development to Michael Bowman, Chairman and President of the Delaware Technology Park, Newark, and the Award for Excellence in International Trade to Analtech, Inc., Newark, the only U.S.-based manufacturer of thin layer chromatography plates.

The World Trade Center Delaware Award for Excellence in International Trade gives special recognition to a Delaware company that has made significant steps in the international market in the past few years, has succeeded in spite of challenges, and has demonstrated a passion and spirit for international trade.

Steven Miles, General Manager of Analtech, Inc., said he was honored to have his company get an award along with Michael Bowman and to be nominated with such great companies as Batta Environmental, GS-TEK, International Development & Technical Assistance LLC, and Supercritical Fluids Technologies, Inc.

“We have worked with these companies, travelled the world with these companies, and we know the quality they represent,” said Miles. “We count ourselves fortunate to know them and be recognized with them by the World Trade Center Delaware.”

Miles said the company would not be doing as much international business if it weren’t for organizations like the World Trade Center Delaware, the U.S. Commercial Service, the Delaware Office of International Trade, the Small Business Administration, and others.

“We owe much of our international success to the men and women in these organizations for their brilliant insights, consistent support, and strong leadership,” said Miles.

The World Trade Center Delaware is dedicated to working with small and medium sized companies to help them grow in Delaware by engaging with global markets.

Analtech, Inc. has been manufacturing thin layer chromatography plates in Delaware since 1961, has been exporting those plates since 1995, and currently exports to more than 70 countries. The company started traveling outside the U.S. in 2011 and has been on trade trips to Brazil, India, China, and United Arab Emirates with plans for Japan and South Korea later this year.
