Motech Americas LLC, a Glasgow-based solar module manufacturer, will be a sponsor of the Wilmington Grand Prix for a second year. The Wilmington Grand Prix was recently recognized by the U.S. Cycling Association (USCA) as one of their top 10 criterium races in the country.

The Wilmington Grand Prix is a 3-day event from May 17-19. On Friday, May 17th. The event starts in the afternoon with the 3.2-mile Monkey Hill Time Trial. Riders race against the clock over a section of cobblestones through Wilmington’s Brandywine Park. On Saturday, May 18th, armature and pro riders tackle a 1-mile closed course figure 8 track through downtown Wilmington. For Motech, the highlight will be on Sunday, May 19th, when almost 1,000 riders will depart from the Delaware Art Museum, many of whom will be wearing the official Gran Fondo Jersey, sponsored by Motech. The Gran Fondo is a 62-mile  tour of Brandywine Valley and some of Delaware’s most prized cultural attractions.

“We are proud to be sponsoring this nationally recognized local event that highlights our beautiful state of Delaware,” said Sharon O’Shea,  marketing director of Motech Americas. “Solar and Cycling go hand-in-hand as they encourage being conscious of our environment and creating a better world for future generations.”
