The New Castle County Chamber of Commerce has seen an increase in membership, according to a blog post.
Membership rosters in chambers of commerce have been stagnant or down in recent years as companies trimmed expenses or went out of businesses.
Since January 1 of this year 64 businesses have become members, 28 in the month of March alone. It’s the most new members since October of 2007.
New members are also getting involved. In the first quarter, nearly 400 have attended a County Chamber networking event. In all, 1,895 people have taken part in one or more of the programs offered by the business group.
